When there's so much turmoil in the world, we long for peace. Jesus calls us to love our enemies. Did you catch that? LOVE our ENEMIES.
That's impossible for us to do by willpower alone. The thought of trying makes me cringe. The amazing thing is that when we invite the Holy Spirit into our hearts, God transforms our hearts and minds so that we can actually begin to live the lives of radical love he calls us to. We can bring real love and change to our world!
Listen in to meditate on God's truth for loving our world well. We all know our world NEEDS love. Today's passage is Romans 12:14-18, and it's Part 2 of this passage. Listen to Part 1 in episode 25.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. (Romans 12:14-18)
